Central PA Chapter IEC Open House and Ribbon Cutting (November 15, 2016): Held in conjunction with National Apprenticeship Week, the Chapter hosted an event open to all members, potential apprentices, educational partners, and government representatives. The event included presentations by Chapter Leadership, incoming National President Bruce Seilhammer, and a ribbon cutting with the West Shore Chamber of Commerce.
Holiday Party and Associate Showcase
Annual Holiday Party and Associate Showcase (December 8, 2016): Associate members had a chance to network with contractor members in a fun, laid back trade show atmosphere at Troeg’s Brewery in Hershey, PA.
Annual Wire-Off (March 7, 2017): This annual competitive event was held at associate member, Dauphin Electric’s, Harrisburg location. During this event six Year 4 apprentices competed for the chance to represent our chapter at the IEC National Convention and compete in the Apprentice of the Year competition.
2017 Annual Meeting
Contractor and Associate members alike gathered for our annual business meeting on April 18, 2017, where our new Board of Directors was elected and bylaws changes were approved by our membership.
Community Service Day (April 29, 2017): This annual day of service is open for participation from all Chapter members. This year the Chapter volunteers worked with the Pennsylvania Boy Scouts of America, to help ready Camp Tuckahoe for another year of camps. U.S. Congressman, Scott Perry, even stopped by to join the volunteers for lunch and praised the Chapter on giving back to the community.
Graduation 2016 (May 9, 2017): The Chapter graduated 15 apprentices in the class of 2016. This event is the culmination of four years of hard work by all apprentices involved and includes awards for highest grades for the year for all 4 years of the program, the Herm Sebastian award which awards the highest grade average of a graduating apprentice over all 4 years, perfect attendance, and names the Wire Off winner.
